Osmania Biscuits

Osmania biscuits are popular in Irani cafes of Hyderabad and these biscuits got the name of the last ruler of Osman Ali Khan. Osmani biscuit,is a short bread kind of cookies with a balance of sweet and salt taste. These cookies are melt in mouth, can be accompanied with a cup of tea.Making these biscuits is pretty simple with the basic ingredients.

My kids love the store bought Osmania biscuits and it has been in my to do list since so long. Finally for the Bake-A-Thon,I tried and it tastes almost the store bought ones.

In some of the recipes saffron infused milk is used for brushing which gives a nice flavor and color to the cookies. But I was not sure about the taste and flavor of saffron in cookies,so I skipped it and brushed wit the regular milk.
